Spring Carmel-by-the-Sea Visit

Last weekend, we took Kargo along for our spring weekend trip to Carmel-by-the-sea. The most exciting time for us, and for Kargo, was the deer encounter in Pacific Grove. The deer kept approaching to get closer and closer but we were too afraid to let them actually meet nose to nose. The deer followed us along for a couple of blocks before giving up after stopping traffic a bit. It turns out that deer are quite common in the city streets there.

Here we are on our hike in Garland Ranch, overlooking one of the views. This is a great place for off-leash hiking. Unfortunately, she did pick up a tick from that hike, but we have the great Tick Twister tool for removing ticks.

And of course, a trip to Carmel must include a trip or two to the beach.

Kargo's faux hawk

I thought I would share these photos of Kargo's fur coloration. She's a mix of German shepherd, Swiss white shepherd, labrador, and saint bernard, and it some ways, it looks like her fur never got mixed! The top of her back is a sleek black and the sides have a sharp delineation that looks like she's been shaved.
